CALIFORNIA LIVING® host and Party Girl Diet™ author Aprilanne Hurley’s “Aloha Diet” Hawaiian pizza takes yummy and delicious to a new level with this healthy, quick and easy dish you can whip up anytime you want a taste of “Aloha.”

What’s the secret to the Aloha Diet’s Hawaiian Pizza?

“There is a secret to making the Aloha Diet’s Hawaiian pizza,” Hurley notes, “and that is to pre-cook the pizza dough for about 5 minutes prior to placing the sauce and ingredients on top.  This creates a nice crispy crust.”  Hurley adds, “Of course, the Aloha Diet’s healthy combination of tasty ingredients will make this your go-to weeknight or weekend recipe when your short on time.”

You can have all of the following ingredients in at all times to whip up Hurley’s Aloha Diet™ Hawaiian Pizza:

  • 1 store bought thin crust pizza (find the by the refrigerated section)
  • Coconut Oil to grease a rectangular cookie sheet (The dough rolls out rectangular so round pizza pans won’t cut it).
  • Organic tomato sauce
  • Part Skim Mozzarella Cheese – sliced thin
  • Pre-cooked Canadian Bacon – diced
  • Thinly sliced red onion – Optional, yet gives it a nice kick.  Using sweet Maui Onions would be divine.
  • Frozen pineapple chucks (About a cup)
  • Sprinkle of cayenne to taste (Optional – yet does turn up the heat for fat burning).

Follow these quick and easy steps to create the Aloha Diet’s Hawaiian Pizza in the oven or even on the grill:

  1. Pre-heat oven to package directions (400 degrees)
  2. Grease pan with Coconut Oil
  3. Roll out pizza dough onto greased pan
  4. Pre-cook dough for 5 minutes, remove from oven or grill
  5. Top pre-cooked pizza dough with remaining ingredients in the following order:

Spread a thin layer of tomato sauce followed by the thin red onion slices, then place your thin slices of Mozzarella Cheese and top off the pizza with the diced ham, pineapple chucks and seasonings.

Bake in oven or on the grill for approximately 10 minutes or until cheese melts.

Serve up hot with a big green salad.  The Aloha Diet’s Hawaiian Pizza will go well with your favorite Pinot…Aloha!
