  • Sonoma County North
  • Sonoma County Central

Tip 1.  WHERE:  Determine the area you want to plan tour & taste experience.  California Living© Wine Tasting Trip Itineraries to consider are the Sonoma Wine Caves, Vineyard walking tours, and the Russian River Wine Trail, etc.

2.  WHAT:  Decide what specific type(s) of wine you want to taste. This is optional if the goal is just to have a fun wine tasting experience.  For serious wine enthusiasts, the plan will more than likely include stops at a few favorite wineries.

3.  HOW:  Map out a half dozen or so wineries you want to check out, and call ahead to insure they will be open during the time you will be in the area to visit.

You may find that some wineries will also waive the tasting fee when you make a wine purchase.  Also consider hiring a limo or assigning a designated driver for your wine tasting tour.  Many times, limo companies specializing in winery tours will also have special relationships with certain wineries, which will provide the tasting free for the limo company’s clients.
